- Explicando una duda:I don’t know why she leftI don’t know why did she leaveI don’t know why left sheI don’t know why she did leavewhy she left.
- Con énfasis:Never I have seen such a thingNever have I seen such a thingI never have seen such a thingHave never I seen such a thingNever have I seen.
- Contando algo:She told to me that she was tiredShe said me that she was tiredShe told me that she was tiredShe told that she was tired to meShe told me. Say es al revés: she said to me, nunca
said me. - Frecuencia baja:Hardly ever we go outWe go hardly ever outHardly we ever go outWe hardly ever go outWe hardly ever go out.
- Preguntando un nombre:I asked him what his name wasI asked him what was his nameI asked him what his nameI asked to him what his name waswhat his name was. Pregunta indirecta: sujeto (his name) y después el verbo. Y ask va sin to.
- Un problema:He explained me the problemHe explained the problem to meHe explained to me the problemHe me explained the problemHe explained the problem to me. Explain nunca lleva la persona pegada: siempre explain something to somebody.
- Experiencia de viaje:She has three times been to RomeShe three times has been to RomeShe has been to Rome three timesShe has been three times to RomeShe has been to Rome three times.
- Después de la reunión:Only after the meeting we understoodOnly after the meeting understood weOnly after did the meeting we understandOnly after the meeting did we understanddid we understand. Con only al principio hay que invertir, pero la inversión va en la oración principal, no en la parte de only after the meeting.
