Ficha 1 · Los irregulares más frecuentes
Escribe el pasado.
- think → ___thought — familia -ought, como buy y bring.
- teach → ___taught — misma familia, con -aught.
- leave → ___left — el participio también es left.
- feel → ___felt — como keep → kept y sleep → slept.
- choose → ___chose — el participio es chosen.
- understand → ___understood — como stand → stood.
Ficha 2 · Familias de irregulares
Completa según el patrón.
- sing → sang. Entonces drink → ___drank — familia i → a → u.
- swim → swam. Entonces begin → ___began — misma familia.
- speak → spoke. Entonces break → ___broke — familia -oke.
- write → wrote. Entonces drive → ___drove — familia i → o.
- keep → kept. Entonces sleep → ___slept.
- send → sent. Entonces spend → ___spent.
Ficha 3 · Past simple o present perfect
Elige el tiempo correcto. Fíjate en si hay marcador temporal.
- I ___ him yesterday.have seensawsaw — yesterday es un momento terminado, así que past simple. Nunca present perfect con marcador de tiempo cerrado.

Escribe el marcador que falta.
- I met her two years ___ago — va detrás del periodo y siempre con past simple.

- They arrived ___ Monday.on Monday — con días, on.
- The film started ___ eight o’clock.at eight — con horas, at.
- I haven’t seen him ___ 2019. (present perfect)since — con un punto de partida. For sería con una duración.

Completa el texto con el pasado del verbo.

Escribe la pregunta completa a partir de la respuesta.

- ___ did you travel with? — With my sister.Who did you travel with? — la preposición se queda al final, muy típico del inglés.
- ___ did the car break down? — Because of the heat.Why did the car break down?
- ___ helped you? — A farmer. (sujeto)Who helped you? — cuando who es el sujeto NO se usa did. Es la excepción.

Ficha 7 · Used to
Completa. Used to se usa para costumbres del pasado que ya no ocurren.
- I ___ to play the piano when I was a child.used to play — costumbre pasada.
- She didn’t ___ to like fish, but now she loves it.didn’t use to — en negativa se pierde la -d, igual que con did.
- ___ you use to live here?Did you use to live here? — en pregunta también sin -d.
- There ___ to be a cinema on this street.There used to be — muy frecuente.
- We ___ to go to the beach every summer.used to go.
- «Estoy acostumbrado a madrugar» → I am used ___ getting up early.be used to + -ing — ojo, esto es otra cosa: estar acostumbrado, no una costumbre pasada.
Ficha 8 · La trampa del present perfect
Elige la versión correcta.
- «He visto a Juan ayer.»I have seen Juan yesterday.I saw Juan yesterday.I saw Juan yesterday — es el error número uno del hispanohablante. Con marcador temporal cerrado, past simple.
- «He estado en Londres tres veces.»I was in London three times.I have been to London three times.have been to — experiencia sin fecha.
- «¿Has terminado ya?»Did you finish already?Have you finished yet?Have you finished yet? — yet y already piden present perfect en inglés británico.
- «Vivo aquí desde 2018.»I live here since 2018.I have lived here since 2018.I have lived — acción que empieza en el pasado y sigue. En español usamos presente y por eso falla.
- «Cuando llegué, ya se habían ido.»When I arrived, they already left.When I arrived, they had already left.had already left — past perfect para lo anterior a otro pasado.
- «Perdí las llaves» (y sigo sin ellas)I lost my keys.I have lost my keys.I have lost my keys — el resultado sigue afectando al presente.

Ya está: has hecho las diez
Si las que más te han costado son la 3, la 8 y la 10, tu problema no es el past simple: es la diferencia con el present perfect. Es la distinción más rentable de todo el B1, porque aparece en reading, en writing y en use of english.
Y si te ha salido bien, sube al nivel difícil, con past continuous, past perfect y narración de nivel B2.
